Man and Boy, and friends of course

I'm sad everytime I finish a particularly good book.

Why?

Well, because throughout the course of the book, I can be so immersed in the author's world that I can even begin to lose myself. It's as if, when I read the book, I live in that world. So, when I finish a particular book, it's like I snapped out of fantasy and was rudely pushed back into reality.

This book wasn't a happy one, nor funny one, nor a Da Vinci code equivalent. It was an honest, open book about a man, his divorce, and his son.

I knew I would fall in love with the book as soon as I flipped past the third page. This was, and still is, how I tell which book is good and whatnot. If it grips me in the beginning, it'll most certainly keep me till the end. I'm sorry, but the first few pages of a 500-page book are the most crucial to me. Even if the last 490 pages of the book will blow everyone off, if your starting isn't good enough...

I digress a lot. I'm already beginning to lose my point.

I loved that book. It was filled with the thoughts of that one man. Loving his wife, loving his mother, loving his father, the woman that was with him after his divorce, her daughter, and most importantly, his son. And I say it again, it's honest, it's truthful, and it touches the very depths of your soul.

That or i'm an extremely sensitive female.

It's Tony Parsons' Man and Boy. A proud winner of the British Book Awards for Book of the Year. (not sure which year..)

THANK you, Wei shiung, for lending it to me. I shall lend you all my furuba CDs tomorrow. ALL THE ORIGINAL ONES I HAVE! Mind you. So don't kill it.

Oh, and pass me the second book.

I was gonna go on about how down I felt for the past few days.

Then, I thought about all the friends I have that care so much about me.

Han Wei, for always putting up with my tempers and tantrums, even quietly accepting abuse when I'm over the top. The Form 4 Year would literally be hell without you. I can't believe it's already September.

Andrew, who tries everytime he spots me in a black face, to cheer me up, and ask me what's wrong, asking me to share my problems from top to toe. And never failing to bestow upon me the trust he offered two years ago, when I was feeling the most vulnerable, the most unaccepted. He gave me his trust, only asking for mine in return. That helped a lot, Drew, I'm sure I've never told you that, nor have I thanked you. It was always you thanking me. So, thank you, my friend.

Nicholas, what can I say? You try to help me all the time, though time have did such cruel things on our friendship. At least I know I can always go to you for that heart to heart talk not many people can handle. Not with a person like me.

Evonne, having you in class is great. I'm sure it wouldn't be the same, without a trusty Origin to share my secrets with. Guys are nice, of course, but a girl always need a girlfriend to talk to.

I'm getting emotional. Everyone start sobbing! NOW!

Jin Kit, you try to cheer me up when I'm down, too. And I'm sorry, too, for a lot of stuff.

Haha...

And Guo Joon, thanks for putting up with my childish manner for the past couple of months. It is not a secret that I'm very difficult when I want to be, especially when I maneuver you into topics you do not wish to discuss, even hurt you when I'm feeling vicious. Unintentionally, of course. You've helped a lot for the past few weeks. At least now I have the comfort of knowing that I do have someone to turn to and cry to, if I really want to, at any time and anywhere. Without making a complete fool out of myself, of course. A lot of things I have to say, yet I think it'll scare you, (or everyone -.-") if I say what I think all here. Thank you, too, and I love you very much.

Same goes to Han, Drew, Nick, Vonne and Kit. Love you ALL!

- Writer feeling extremely emotional and probably wouldn't have written that out in her public blog if she was thinking coherently. She means all of it though, and hope those that were mentioned loves her too.

.

Do you know how much I feel like bursting out?

How much I would like to STOP crying in front of the damned computer?

I feel like throwing my computer away, smashing it to bits.. I've spent too much of my life wasted on it.

And probably stop bottling up so much things in my mind, overthinking everything.

Stop arguing with my mother.

Stop thinking too much.

Stop thinking your friends hate you.

Stop thinking about anything at all.

Exams are coming.

My friends might hate me.

I should think.

My mother provokes me into an argument. Now how often can THAT happen?!

I'm contradicting myself, am i?

You know, I really complain too much. I have people who love me, and people I love, and friends that are nice...

Which I always think I'll lose...

Oh, shut up. Shut the hell up.

Evonne > Xiao

This is Evonne.

I have a simple reason for posting her picture and blogging about her today.

No, not because I have absolutely nothing to blog about.

Actually yes, but let's skip that tiny little detail, shall we?

Evonne's cute, no doubt about that. And she's just about the most photogenic person I know. Though, you have to smile with teeth, vonne. I don't care if you have braces! I smile naturally, too! Smile smile smile! =DDD

Ahem.

Let's discuss, why Evonne > Xiao.

You see, my best friend GAN HAN WEI, refused to go to this play (Macbeth) when I asked him to go for it. When I graciously ASKED him to go to this very interesting i-wouldn't-wanna-miss-it-for-the-world play (Hey, I like Macbeth. Sue me.), he said, almost immediately :

"Ah. This kinda Literature crap ain't my thing. So, sorry ah."

Fine. Since I-wouldn't-wanna-miss-it-for-the-world, I signed up anyway. I knew he wouldn't wanna go, but I asked him, just in case.

Then, Evonne went like :

"OMG, Macbeth?! When, where, what? I wanna go!!"

Then, xiao said :

"Go la!"

Then, Evonne said :

"Eh, JK~~ Hannnn~ I wanna go!! Go with me larrrrr!"

*conversation was based on what I remember, wordings are not exact replicas of the original*

*whatever that meant*

And the NEXT thing I knew, Han Wei was signed up and ready to go for Macbeth (which is this sunday at the KL performing arts centre. Go watch!)

Although Han rather firmly denied that fact and refused to agree with us when we say HE DOES WHATEVER EVONNE ASKS HIM TO DO...

We know otherwise.

Now that's Example 1 of why Evonne > Xiao.

Example 2 :

"Han, mooncake festival how?" said Xiao.

"Hmm? Anything la," replied Han.

"I feel like doing another JK-ish party, bbq and stuff," said Xiao, giving some suggestions seeing that SOMEONE FELT LIKE A PIG.

"Don't want la. Waste money you know. Nowadays, economy not so good ler."

Fine. Since it's such a waste of cash, I didn't pursue the topic further and decided to let things go easy, maybe eat some mooncakes, walk around with cheap lanterns and have a blast anyway.

*several hours later*

"Hannnnnnnnnnn~~~~~" whined Evonne.

"Yes yes yes yes?" asked Han.

"I want a barbequeeeeeee. I didn't go to JK's oneeeeeee, I wanttttttttt."

*several minutes later*

"Promise arrrrrrrr!!" said Evonne, while holding out her pinky.

"Erm, can I not make a promise yet?" said Han, unconvincingly.

"*makes more whining sounds* Promiseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," said Evonne.

"Fine, fine. Promise la promise la," surrendered Han.

I WOULD be happy because we managed to persuade Han, since his house is the most strategic place for a bbq and he generally likes it, and he told me his mom likes it...

BUT!

I say it again, although you say it's just me coming to you at the wrong time, and Evonne somehow ALWAYS gets you on a "right" time...

I know otherwise.

...

...

...

...

Oh yes, I'm having a lot of fun. Aren't you?

Boredom

I am Bored.

Bored. Bored. Bored. Bored. Bored.

Then why, you ask, am I still staying in my room boring my ass off?

Simple.

My Mom's out. My sister's out. Even my BABY sister's out. My dad's hogging the tv.

And I am home.

The weather is great, I should get out and have some fun, maybe pluck a few leaves, smell a few flowers, or just simply lie down on the grassy field nearby my house and bask in the glorious afternoon sun.

But i'm not allowed to go out there alone, so I have to stay home.

Mom turned me paranoid. Great.

No one is online. *spams Luzzio's msn just to find out he's away*

So let's list out the things I actually can do to relieve boredom.

*ooh. Luzzio's online! Spams*

*now he tells me he wants to sleep. Ass*

List of Things Xiao Can Actually Do To Relieve Boredom :

i)     Do Homework. No shit, that'd make me unbored.
ii)    Duh at i)
iii)   Wrestle the remote control from my Dad and watch repeats of all the shows on Star World.
iv)   Following iii) would be my Dad killing me and placing the remains of my maimed body in a small tupperware. Seriously, I think that would be interesting. Should I try....
v)    Convince myself that iii) and iv) isn't really a good idea.
vi)   Study.
vii)   Refer to ii)
viii)  Update my blog
ix)   Call guojoon.
x)    Then, get a scolding for not doing work and disturbing him in his studies.
xi)    i) ii) vi) and vii) will follow if I do x)
xii)   Call Han.
xiii)  Refer to x)
xiv)  Then refer to xi)
xv)   Update my fan-fic.
xvi)  Decide against updating it.
xvii) Wonder how many things I can actually do to relieve boredom.
xviii) Start stuffing myself with every edible foodstuff available in my house.
xix)  Complain about fats.
xx)   Realise I'm not fat at all, and complain about thin-ness.
xxi)  Knowing that I'm being stupid and whiny and stopping to list out what I can do and actually do it.

I chose xxi).

So I had to choose my next course of action. from 1) to xx).

Hmmm.

I think i should do this, viii) -> xxi) -> xvii) -> ix) -> x) [which is i) -> ii) -> vi) -> vii)] -> xii) -> xiii) [which is also i) -> ii) -> vi) -> vii)] -> xv) -> xvi) -> xviii) -> xix) -> xx).

And voila! One day gone!

Herodotus vs. Archimedes

I just noticed a weird pattern in my studies.

Digression : I actually tried to study today! The world is about to end, I tell you.

Anyway, I was talking about studying.

*gasps*

I took out my physics book. And I REALLY REALLY wanted to finish my experiments book that our dearly belat-, oops, I mean beloved Physics teacher asked us to finish.

"Kamu semua ini, tak buat kerja langsung, nanti Finals ar, saya akan tahu siapa *insert random crap i didn't bother to listen*. Ah, tengok la, siapa fail dengan markah yang sangat rendah, tahun depan tak perlu masuk kelas saya. Saya tak mau ajar kamu. Tengok lah!"

How we all love her.

And that is why, I took out my Physics book.

"Monday pass up your work! You orang tak pernah hantar kerja rumah!"

Seeing that Pn. Maimar is, although one of the better Physics teachers in our school, a boring old hag, cough, I mean, teacher, we students (although we try VERY very hard, I assure you) cannot keep up with class and thus, resulting in...

.. Me not listening.

... And I don't know what I was supposed to fill in experiment i-forgot-what-number.

So I flipped through my book hopelessly, from front ot back and back to front again.

After several minutes of futile search, I gave up, dumped my books on the floor (they're still on the floor now) and picked up my History book.

Our History teacher is none other than our discipline teacher, so we more or less try to keep up with her work, of course.

I'm still at page 137's Exercise.

I think she's at page 211 ^^

Yeah, I'm one of her fav students no doubt.

Haha.

But I owed it to myself to catch up with Islamic History, so i flipped open my History book, and camped down to try to read up chapter 4.

Notice how well I actually pay attention in her class. Compare it with the Physics book just now, you'll notice that my History book is much more colourful and beautifully decorated. I took additional notes too! See what a good student I am!

Until now, I haven't actually got to my point, so all sarcasm and witty remarks aside, I'll get to the main core of my blogging today.

Let's just say I only read through that part once, and I already remembered roughly what words are there. Exact words. Not some mumbo jumbo crap added into it. Almost as if I have photographic memory.

Now let's go back to the Physics book. I can stare at one formula for 30 minutes and not be able to remember it when I leave my table.

Weird how my mind works.

FoooooooooooooD

I decided to make a eeny weeny little side story.

--------------------------------------------------

This is Mr. Gingie. Nice to meet you, and nice to meet you too!

Mr. Gingie is full of joy and happiness, and of course, is a big social animal. On the way to a party with Shrek, he met Hot Babe.

Gingie : "Hi, babe, isn't the day just wonderful?!"

Hot Babe : ...

...

I guess that's what happens when you meet a pig.

Sigh. Poor Gingerbread man.

Don't you feel just evil? ^^

-----------------------------------------------------

The smells from the kitchen is driving me crazy. Even from my room, I can smell/almost taste the HONEY, BUTTERED chicken wings slowly baking into GOLDEN CRISP in the oven. This would be the first time in days/weeks/months/years I'm actually yearning to go downstairs and feast with my Dad and Mom.

Mmmmmmmm.. Heavenly smells wafting into my room....

The Animal Tale Part 2

Writer's note : The pictures resemble the sentence above them. I think. Try to make sense out of them la. Imagine them talking and moving in their own cute way =)

--------------------------------------------------

"What marriage? I'm not letting you marry her."

Why not?

"You're a sheep."

So what?

"You can't expect me to have mongrels as nieces."

How 'bout nephews?

Great. Now they have a huge (And again, literally) obstacle. What to do? What to doooo?

"Aunt Humonga, I love him with all my heart! I don't care what you say. I. WANNA. MARRY. HIM!"

"Over my dead body."

How 'bout my lawyer's body?

"Fine, smarty pants. We'll go to court and see what the judge has to say."

So Humonga, Hot Babe, and George Sheep rushes to the court where George called for his lawyer. The best marriage lawyer grass can buy.

... Mr. Moo-moo.

Turns out Humonga didn't have enough cash, so she had to preside over her own case.

To be continued...

Humonga vs. Moo-moo.

Merdeka!

Ah. Finally, the clock struck.

Happy 48th Birthday, Malaysia!!

Here, have some cake. =)

HAha, despite us complaining all day long about Malaysia's weather being too hot, environment too dirty, racism too obvious, mannerisms totally down the drain, being too freaking hot....

Yes, I know I just repeated myself.

Let me say it again.

THE WEATHER IN MALAYSIA IS TOO FREAKING HOT!!!

And if anyone reads XiaXue's blog, she was complaining about KL being totally arsed, and that she got totally ripped off because she is a tourist, bla bla and bla.

I wouldn't deny that some of her points were true.

But I wouldn't deny that I didn't enjoy ShaolinTiger's reply to her post, either.

Kudos to you ShaolinTiger. Haha.

What I was trying to say was, although we Malaysians are a bunch of asses and complain about our Tanah Air all we want... In the end, we still love our country, and will not stand by other people from other countries criticisizing us!

No hard feelings to those that think we suck. But obviously, we think the same about you, too. =)

Happy Merdeka Day, everyone!

The Animal Tale

This is George Sheep.

George is no ordinary sheep.

In fact, he's one of the most important sheeps around.

You see, George is the President of USA.

...

Unified Sheeps Association. (Duh, you thought America ah?)

George always walk around with his associates. *coughcroniescough*

You know, those important big-shot (kiss-up) animals that tag along the President of USA so that they would have a chance of getting promoted.

Yeah. Right.

So, it's George's birthday last month, and he invited a few friends over to his den.

Then a gorgeous, hot babe (literally) caught his eye, and after stealing a few peeks at her, the President of USA, George "mutton" Sheep, fell head over heels for that (literally) hot babe. All throughout the night, he ignored his friends and conversed (flirted) with her and her only.

Unable to resist his deadly charm, she, of course, also fell headfirst into the sea of love.

One day, George proposed to her.

"From the moment I set my eyes on you, I knew we were meant to be. You are my heart and soul, my one and only, my Angel. I cannot live without you..."

*after 30 minutes*

"... Will you... marry me?"

"Why.. George... I... I don't know what to say.."

"I have a ring.."

"YES!! YES I'LL MARRY YOU!!"

Elated, George and Hot Babe (Yes, her name IS Hot Babe) rushed to Hot Babe's only living relative (since George's relatives were all dead) to ask for her permission.

Her Aunt Humonga, her father's third cousin's, twice-removed, cousin's aunt's daughter-in-law.

To Be Continued...

OOC : Haha, digicam out of battery. I'll post the continuation later if anyone wants it. xD!!

To Make an Identification Card

We had to renew our I.C. (we as in, mommy, daddy, sister and i) Which was (is) probably long overdue. Dad was gracious and kind (no sarcasm!) enough to pick THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, to drag us to Putrajaya for a new look of our identification cards.

It's nice to have parents who do not think much of high school education. Especially local ones.

Mmm ^^

Nice nice bridge structure. The big long metal line thingys are actually very useful! Not just for show!

Jabatan Pentadbiran Negara. Or at least I think it is..

Amalan Amanah Cekap...? We learnt that in Moral! What's the fourth word?!

Random picture of the inside. Blurred 'cos daddy was asking us to walk faster. Any faster and we would be flying la daddddd.

Just before we went to take our lovely picture for our lovely i.c. (yes, sarcasm here) My mom and sis insisted on a trip to the powder room. *puts on lipstick/gloss*

A look of our very own public toilets. This one is considered not too bad. Note : Pink outfit oO

Mommy while going down the escalator.

Just for fun =)

me : Daddy i wanna go take photos of people getting marrieddd

Daddy : aiyah, what for?

me : nehhhh, fun ma..

In the end he relented. And there was this.... thing in front of the Jabatan Perkahwinan dan Penceraian. Cute! You can take your jaunty little walk down the... very short aisle? in the middle of all this gloom and gray.

I quickly snapped a pic of the surroundings of the Jabatan whatever we came out of. It's a nice place, compared to other places in KL.

Woosh. *tumbleweed rolls by*

Mom : Eh, got marching band! Let's go watch.

Dad : Haiyoh, what for la?

Mom + sis : Neh, watch laaa!!

I love manipulating my dad into corners he just simply can't get out of. When 2 girls work on 1 guy, the girls usually win.

Mmm. I like this photo, for some reason. Okay, I REALLY like it xD

Marching band from <insert school name>

Same as above. Turns out they're having their practice for Hari Kebangsaan today. A LOTTT of marching bands..

Mom ruined the picture. She saw me holding the camera up and thought i was gonna snap a picture of her, so she decided to grab my sis and pose. Well, I DID wanna snap a picture of THEM. Candid nicer ma, mommy.

Strawberry face!! Hahahaaa!!! Oh, and my mom looks gorgeous. Seriously. She doesn't visit my blog so I can actually say anything I want =P. But at the age of 48, you don't see many women that looks good. And no, my mom does not overuse make up. Proof that without make up, you still can look fabulous!

Daddy smiling and squintingggg.

Stupid braces. My teeth are too large. Sis looking weird in all the pics. Now she looks like a squirrel that spotted an acorn. I see a mole. Nyahahaha!

If i'm not mistaken, this should be the NS crew.

Our feet.

People that stayed to watch the marching people pass by.

Catholic High School. They won the <insert name here> competition that was held <insert time here>. I saw the video, they were good.

Bunch of small kiddies running after the big guy in front of them. Why are most of them malays? Where are the chinese and indians? Sigh.

<insert unknown school name here>

Weee, going down, down..

And down.

See. And again she spoils the picture. Tsk tsk! Mom, candid good la, yoh!

And downnnnn...

Talk about patriotic (or total lack of fashion sense). His clothes resemble our national flag. His cap too.

Taken while walking.

Then, we were back in the car. Halfway through, my dad and mom were talking about cursing/swearing/profanity-leaking (amongst other things..) and my dad suddenly laughed in his weird way of laughing. (by weird i mean shoulders hunching up and hiccup kinda giggling) [told you weird la]

Daddy : You know, I knew this guy who could turn a simple 'meh si ar?' [cantonese] (meaning some sort of 'wassup?' in english, 'apahal?' in bm and blah), into something that has three vulgar words in three dialects in it.

Mom : *bursts out laughing* I can't say it. Daddy you tell them.

Daddy : I can't say it. YOU say it.

My mom never curses, so..

Dad : *tries saying one word* *laughes in his weird way again*

Me + sis : *laughs at dad who looks hilarious while trying to drive and concentrate on the road while laughing like a maniac.. literally*

Mom : *laughes* tell them la.

Dad : *laughes again* <inserts long phrase>

Me + sis : *laughes 'cos it sounded funny*

We didn't know what it meant, obviously.

They explained, though.

Not telling you what it was =)

Awww. See how cute he is when he smiles. He usually frowns a lot =(

I love taking pictures of clouds. Unfortunately, I was in a moving car, and the backseat had extremely tinted windows.

Muahhaha. And I didn't have to go to school! *rubs it all in*
